We are happy to offer Alpaca Experiences for individuals, families, or larger groups.
This activity includes hands-on meeting the male alpacas, learning about them and how to handle them;
then we spend about 90 minutes taking the alpacas for a walk in the Pentland Regional Park.
Be prepared to have your photograph taken by the walkers and cyclists that we meet on the way
- you are strolling in the countryside with local celebrities!
- you will have to smile a lot, but that won't be difficult as the Alpacas will cause you to smile, anyway!
On our return to the farm, you have the opportunity to hand feed the alpacas and visit the "Mums" (and their babies - depending on the date of your visit)
Groups with young children (9 years and under) should be aware that that we recommend that since they may experience difficulty in the handling of animals that exceed their height and weight, it will be more appropriate for them to share a lead rope with an adult. This minimises the risk of any injury, while still enabling close contact. (... or as an alternative, you may wish to consider a "Farm Visit" )
Due to the age and size limitations mentioned above, we do not price per person - instead we base the price on the number of alpacas walked.
Please note that we cannot permit groups of more than 2 people per alpaca booked
The charge per alpaca walked is £25
(Please note that alpacas are social animals, and are unhappy walking alone - so the minimum number that we take walking at any time is 2.
Our herd currently has 7 young males, so parties of a size greater than seven must be willing to share alpacas - but, as stated above, no more than 2 people per alpaca)
